Writing Quote Tuesday

This week’s quote is from one of my sister’s favorite authors:

“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.”

Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums

My Monthly Spamathon

Why don’t I check my spam comments more often? There are some pretty good ones in there. To all of my fans who got nabbed by Word Press before I could respond to you, here is what I would have said if I’d noticed you sooner:

1. Bad Credit Car Loans: Hmm it looks like your website ate my first comment (it was super long) so I guess I’ll just sum
it up what I submitted and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.
I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still
new to the whole thing. Do you have any points for first-time
blog writers? I’d certainly appreciate it.

Dear Bad Credit: My spam filter also ate your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th comments. Weird! Next time try using a human being instead of a robot to post. That usually helps.

2. Greta: Material pipes are ideal for those over a low-budget who would like to
commit less and clean glue from their dishes to get more boom for the buck.

Dear Greta: Thank you! Every night I scrub and scrub at that darn dish glue and it never makes a lick of difference! If only I’d known that material pipes were the answer! Now, can you recommend any physical ducts that might help with the rest of my finances? I want to make sure I get more bounce for the ounce, more bling for my ring, more butter for mi cutter, more bling for less cha-ching.

3. Dieting and Exercising but Gaining Weight: Here are several examples that may help you know what I mean: First, there’s
the overweight woman at the office who always says
she can’t lose fat, yet she’s always there to obtain the free sweets inside the kitchen. Many studies and
individual experiences show that diet plans don’t work, just
what exactly does. Many individuals have way too short of your state
of mind and that is amazing all they need to do is exercises for a couple of months and they’ll have the great body
throughout their life.

Dear Dieting: Hey! I can use Google Translate too! See if you can figure out what this says in English: ਸਭ ਇੱਥੇ ਬਲਦ terds ‘ਤੇ ਅਪ ਜਰੂਰਤ, ਧੰਨਵਾਦ!

4. Augustina: The owner had told the authorities that it’d something to do
with her smoking an ‘incense’ and wasn’t something like pot.

Dear Augustina: Well your day sounds a heck of a lot more interesting than mine!

5. viagrabeliguefr.com: Hi there, after reading this remarkable post i am also glad
to share my experience here with mates.

Dear Viagra: Awww…thanks! I should click on your link to see what you’re up to since you were so kind and sincere about your glad experience with my blog.

6. Socorro: I don’t even know how I ended up here, but I thought this post was good.
I don’t know who you are but certainly you’re going to a
famous blogger if you aren’t already 😉 Cheers!

Dear Socorro: Wow, so many spammers love my blog! Who knew I was so popular? Wait…do you say this to all the bloggers?

That’s all for now, folks! Join me next month, when hopefully I’ll remember to empty the spam folder again. Spamalot to you all!

Let Us Pause to Recognize the Significance of This Day

I’m taking a little break-a vacation, if you will-from Writing Quote Tuesday this week to recognize an important event. In honor of this special day, this week’s quote has absolutely nothing to do with writing:

“Schooooool’s out for the summer!”

That is all. 🙂

Step in Time

In case any of you are in need of a good laugh today, here is a video of my first time back in step class after having the baby. I’m not quite as coordinated as I used to be. 😉

Happy Thursday!

Writing Quote Tuesday

This week’s quote is from Paulo Coelho:

“Writing means sharing. It’s part of the human condition to want to share things-thoughts, ideas, opinions.”

Paulo Coelho

Maybe this is why I’m so drawn to the craft. I’ve never been able to keep my opinions to myself!

The Time Suck

swirling clock

I need to be writing. I mean I really need to be writing. My book has been on hold since the day my youngest son was born, and I absolutely, positively, need to get back to it!

Everyone says, “Well, you’ve got a pretty good excuse!” And that’s true. And don’t get me wrong, nothing is more important to me than being a mom right now. It’s just that this whole “Hopefully-I’ll-have-time-to-write-tomorrow” thing is driving me swirly-eyed cuckoo, and my kids are starting to look at me like this:

Concerned baby thought bubble

In an effort to at least get something down on paper, here is a list of things I’ve done this week instead of writing: Continue reading
