Hey friends! Do you like giveaways and winning free stuff? Well I'm giving away a blog post for free! Great giveaway contest and social media contests for business.
I bet you've seen a lot of bad writing on the web. I know I have. When I come across a website with low quality writing, I automatically form a negative opinion of the company. Even when the website is otherwise well-designed and the leader has decades of experience, if the copy is hackwork, I look elsewhere.
Here's a question. What the hell is wrong with you people? No, not YOU people, my normal, non-urine-obsessed readers. I'm talking to all the freaks who keep landing on my blog after searching for pictures of little girls peeing. You all may not realize this, but people who run websites can actually see how you ended up on their site. Unfortunately, I can't see your IP address. If I could, the FBI would already be at your door. But seriously, what is WRONG with you? For those of you who are not creepy pervs, let me explain what happened. I have a WordPress hosted site, which means that WordPress keeps track of all of my blogging stats, including how many page views I get, how many unique visitors, and the way that visitors found my site.
I hope all of you are snuggled up with someone you love!
Stellar Content vs. Great Marketing: Which is more important? Have you ever read a popular novel by a well-known author that had sold hundreds of thousands of copies, only to discover that it was complete crap? I have. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo comes to mind. (You can hate me if you want. There’s only so much I can take of a guy having coffee before I need an actual plot.)
Want to know what makes a humor blogger tick? Ever read a funny post and thought, "What on earth is going through that person's head? Today I'm talking to Benny, AKA Daddy Poppins, to answer all of my most pressing questions. Daddy Poppins is an Irish stay at home dad who gave up work as an … Continue reading Interview with the Humor Blogger: Daddy Poppins
Since I started blogging, I have talked to so many people who have told me, "I'd love to start a blog! I have so many ideas about fitness/fashion/parenting/crafting/name-your-topic, and I think I could really help people! The only problem is, I'm not so sure about my writing skills." The good news is, writing is a skill that can be learned, honed, and not-quite-perfected-but-close. (You're not a real writer until you've learned to obsess over words and paragraphs, never quite feeling like the piece is done until you hit a deadline and have to just STOP TINKERING AND SUBMIT THE THING ALREADY!) With that in mind, I've decided to start a new series on my blog called Writerly Wednesdays. My intention is to help bloggers improve their writing skills to make your posts as engaging, entertaining, and un-put-downable as possible.
I was having a hard time thinking of topics for this week's list, so I asked my kids for ideas. Here's what they suggested:
If you'd like to enter the dark and disorganized corners of my brain, please read on. I can't promise that you'll make it out quickly, though. Well, you probably will. It's only 13 things. What time does the liquor store close? "Birfdays was the worst days. Now we drink champagne when we thirstay!" (Just … Continue reading 13 Random Things I Had on My Mind Today

Some of you may have wondered where I'd gone. Others are scratching your heads and wondering if you've ever heard of me before. Is she the one with … Continue reading Alternative Excuses
