Hi, I’m Nicole. I’m the blogger behind Where the Heart Is. First, a little about myself. I live in Maryland with my husband and 4 children, ages 9, 8, 5, and 2. We also have Lucy, our fiercely terrifying, 20 pound Boston Terrier who protects our home from some ubiquitous danger only she can see.
I call myself a stay-at-home-mom, but work-at-home is probably a better description. I spend my mornings wiping noses, bottoms, and breadcrumbs, slapping together pb&j sandwiches, projecting murderous thoughts toward piles of laundry, and shouting “Where are your shoes?! Where are your shoes?! We’re already 10 minutes late! Find your shoes and get in the car!”
But in the afternoons while the baby is napping, I
get distracted by Facebook and Twitter write. (I often get out 2 or 3 words before the first interruption from the kiddos!) I’ve written 3 novels and hundreds of hilarious blog posts, all out of an altruistic desire to make you laugh and drive up my blog stats.
Of course, being a “mompreneur” means being a mom first. My office door is always open, so if at any time my children need me, they are welcome to come right in and drive me to drink.
I have a PhD in snark and a Masters in Social Work. Fortunately, I’m only paying off loans on one of those degrees.
In this blog you’ll find stories about family, parenting, writing, the PTA, wine, and anything else that might gradually rob me of my sanity. Thank you for stopping by! I hope you have a laugh! If you like what you read, please, PLEASE sign up for my newsletter. If you are my one-millionth subscriber, I promise to bear your children. For all others, I will send you a free set of printable wine labels, plus my hilarious wit to your inbox every week.
Love to you all! Cheers!
